Deep in the heart of tropical regions you will find a small to medium tree with brilliantly colored green leaves accented by rust colored branches when young. Highly scented flowers peek out among the foliage of new leaves showing yellow to purple inner petals turning to a creamy white to the outside. Highly prized fruit follows that when cut open emits a sweet scent much like that of a mango.
This tree makes a most interesting deck plant and grows well as a container, plant for the home or greenhouse, in addition to being a specimen plant and bonsai tree. Treat as a tropical that cannot tolerate frost.

As with any plant, caution should be exercised about leaves or seeds and whether or not the plant is meant to be ingested. Seller is not responsible for buyer’s use of plant.

    Fun Facts:

In Columbia the fruit is eaten raw or made into juice
In Guatemala and Costa Rica their exists a belief that the fruit should not be used or eaten because it is not wholesome
    Also called cabeza de negro
