Even though the name implies the plant is a palm, it is really a succulent and does have a pony’s tail like structure. Rosettes of long green leaves, rest atop the expanded base of a single trunk. Often grown as a houseplant, ponytails can also be grown outdoors in zones 9+ Clusters of white flowers will bloom on mature plants. Perfect for rock gardens as well as bonsai specimens.
