Even though the name implies the plant is a palm, it is really a succulent and does have a pony’s tail like structure. Rosettes of long green leaves, rest atop the expanded base of a single trunk. Often grown as a houseplant, ponytails can also be grown outdoors in zones 9+ Clusters of white flowers will bloom on mature plants. Perfect for rock gardens as well as bonsai specimens. Do not overwater. If you are forgetful about watering your houseplants this is the houseplant for you!
