Sprays of soft green foliage accent dark red - brown bark, and drooping flat frond-like branchlets. Branches are thick and full and have a drooping effect. This tree is very tolerant of pruning making it perfect for bonsai culture. Grow in full sun and mist or spray the leaves occasionally.
The tree tolerates a wide variety of soil types and like some humidity. This tree makes a most interesting bonsai project and also grows well as a container plant for the home or greenhouse in addition to being a specimen plant. As a standard they are perfect for hedges, screening and windbreaks. Growers value the tree for rock gardens.
