    Japanese Persimmon

    This persimmon is one of the oldest plants known to be in cultivation dating back over 2000 years. Slightly tangy and marvelously sweet, soft orange fruits grow on bright green trees. Has excellent ornamental features with notably drooping branches that make a terrific specimen as well as a bonsai work of art that blooms and produces fruit.

    Fun Facts:
    1. This tree is deciduous
    2. Female flowers have a creamy yellow color and tto grow singly, while male flowers have a pink tint with a tendancy to appear in threes
    3. In Korea, the persimmon is called gam and it is usually eaten as a dessert with a little powdered sugar especially when there are guests
