• Terminalia bellirica Tree Seeds

This tree found in the beautiful lower hills of Southeast Asia is often grown in parks and along avenues. Bright green leaves crowd stems and branches where small spikes of delicate white blossoms peek from underneath. The tree is deciduous and cold hardy to 30° F but since it is a tropical should be protected from frost.

    Fun Facts:
    1. Native to Southeast Asia
    2. In the book Pharmacographia Indica from 1890 it was believed that “This tree, in Sanskrit Vibhita and Vibhitaka (fearless), is avoided by the Hindus of Northern India, who will not sit in its shade, as it is supposed to be inhabited by demons."
