    An annual legume that can grow to about 9 feet with a vigorous root system. Should not be considered a traditional edible bean. White to pink flowers yield to the desired bean pod that is the source of guar gum. Often grown as green manure as well as seed flour that is used as an agent to make paper stronger. Drought tolerant. Often grown with corn or wheat as a soil enhancer.
