Shikakai
An Asian shrub noted for its climbing ability and the pods that can be made into soap products. A moderately fast growing plant that many plant collectors use as an ornamental tropical or bonsai work of art. Curvy thorns grow along stems and branches accented by small leaves of forest green foliage and white to pink flower puffs that form at the tips of the branches.
Fun Facts:
1. The fruit pods are traditionally made into a shampoo product in India
2. Shikakai translates as “fruit for the hair”
