Purple Barley seeds grow naturally without a hull making them less of a chore upon harvest.  Perfect for sprouting or growing for juicing, barley risotto, grinding into flour for making bread, rice substitute or even for food storage. High in protein. This is a terrific grain crop to start with for beginner growers.  Hulless barley is the best choice for the homesteader or home gardener.  There is no need for hull removal which allows the barley to retain key vitamins and minerals normally lost in this process. 
Makes excellent cover for quail and other wildlife.  
Plant in Spring or Fall except in very cold climates. A standard spring variety, that is well adapted to most conditions.
