A small to medium-sized deciduous tree with branches that are smooth and pale brown and bark that peels making this a multi- purpose plant perfect for a bonsai work of art as well as tropical use. Delicate yellow-white blossoms emerge making a stunning contrast to the green glossy leaves. Blooms April through September. Named after Nehemiah Grew (1641-1712), one of the founders of plant physiology. Thrives in subtropical climates, and grows best when planted in rich soil, is given adequate water and is placed in full sunlight, or light shade. Great for container gardening for tropical culture or the deck.
