Momordica charantia var muricata
Indian Bitter Gourd
 
This vine works well as a climber as well as a groundcover. Growing up to around 16 feet with dark green, lobed leaves  accented by yellow flowers, followed by, green, bumpy fruits that ripens to an orange- yellow. Flower from April to May. Grow as an annual in most regions. Start and grow, culturally, like a cucumber. 

Fun Facts:

The name derives from latin "mordeo" indicating the jagged seeds
