Sesbania grandiflora
Hummingbird Tree
Beautiful white blossoms hang gracefully from the branches of Sesbania grandiflora, displayed against delicate green foliage. The flowers have a distinctive pea-flower-like arrangement that adds interest to this tropical flowering tree.
In its natural habitat, Sesbania grandiflora can reach approximately 30 feet (10 meters) in height. When grown in a container, its size can be considerably more restrained. It prefers warm temperatures, humidity, plenty of water, and good growing conditions.
This species is sensitive to cold and frost. In warm climates, it can be grown outdoors in a protected location, while in cooler areas it is well suited to container or greenhouse cultivation.
