    3-4 foot plants produce an abundance of tiny, dark purple fruits. Beautiful grown as an ornamental container plant or harvest berries for cooking and processing. Un-cooked berries should not be eaten and, much like a potato, berries should not show any green to them at all. Grow like you would a pepper. Be sure to research the use and processing of the berries before using them.

    Fun Facts:
    1. Berries are tasteless unless properly processed by cooking and sweetened
    2. People make pies from the cooked fruits
    3. Originally native to Africa
    4. 1 pound of berries to ½ cup of sugar produces the best flavor

    Zones 9+ For outdoors otherwise treat as a tropical for the home or greenhouse.
